According to weather prediction reports, inclement weather conditions with potential rain will cease during the election period, Disaster Management Minister Ranjith Madduma Bandara said.

Addressing the media at the Ministry, he said today the Meteorology Department had reported that there would be no hurdle to conduct the election.

He said necessary measures had been taken to provide boats or any other facilities for people to cast their votes if situation warrants.

"The DMC centres established in all the 25 districts had been put on alert during the election days to take immediate action if the weather condition deteriorates," the Minister added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
