Action will be taken against traders who sell cooking oil deemed unfit for human consumption in the Sri Lankan market if details of them are provided, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardane told Parliament on Wednesday

Minister Gunawadene said the public should provide details to the Consumer Affairs Authority about the outlets which sold such brands of cooking oil unfit for consumption.

" The public should provide information about the outlets which sell high- risk coconut oil while the Ministry of Finance should also take action," the Minister said.

“The consignment of highs- risk coconut oil must have not been caught the attention of the Customs Officers," the Minister said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

There should be limit to madness. Is this a responsible statement? Dose he wants ordinary citizens to carry lab test kits to check weather the coconut oil they going to purchase are fit for human consumption?
