The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) said that they have agreed with the statement made by Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi over the Ayurvedic syrup that claims to cure COVID-19.
She lamented that the public have taken a huge risk by gathering in the area, even without considering the COVID-19 regulations.
Addressing the media, GMOA Editor Dr. Haritha Aluthge said the Minister has said the local medicinal syrup was not yet scientifically proven to cure coronavirus.
She also said that clinical tests and experiments are still underway.“If it is proven to be effective, people need to have patience until the results are announced".
If the local syrup is effective, the Government will announce the public,” Dr. Aluthge said.
He said the GMOA also holds the similar stance which Minister has on this. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
