Education Minister G.L. Pieris, his family members or officials were not contracted with coronavirus, Education Ministry confirmed today.
The Ministry media unit said after confirming Women and Child Development State Minister Piyal Nishantha tested COVID-19 positive, the Education Minister, his family and his associate officials were sent for self-quarantine.
During the self-quarantine period, PCR tests were performed, they said.
Following the test results, it was confirmed that none of them was tested COVID-19 positive, the Ministry said.
