Fuel distribution to 12 filling stations suspended: Minister

The power and energy ministry today decided to suspend fuel distribution to 12 filling stations that did not comply with the fuel dispensing guidelines, Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said.

He said the decision was taken following the progress review of the CPC Marketing division held today.

During the meeting, it was reviewed about the failure to comply with QR system by certain fuel stations.

However, the Minister has given instructions to continuously monitor the stations and to submit complaints received by the public to the respective police stations. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Kanjana, Do you know, most of the Colombo residents consume less than 20 Litres for cars, for their office work,attend to errands etc; if you go to a shed late Sunday evening, the fuel attendent poses a question, and tells you that you have 9 more Litres balance, can we mark as 20 litres, this is another racket.
