Fmr. CID Director Shani Abeysekara’s bail application fixed for hearing

The Court of Appeal today fixed February 23 to hear the petitions filed by former Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara and former CID Sub Inspector (SI) Sugath Mendis. 

The two suspects were remanded by the Gampaha Magistrate's Court for allegedly fabricating evidence in a case against former DIG Vaas Gunawardena and group of other suspects.

Their bail applications were earlier rejected by the Gampaha High Court.(Yoshitha Perera)
