The new Crest Gem placed atop the historic Ruwanweli Maha Seya was unveiled at the auspicious time of 10.00 a.m today.
The unveiling ceremony of the Crest Gem took place this morning and was attended by the Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Maha Nayake Thera.
The previous pinnacle of the Ruwanweliseya was placed inside a special chamber to display for the public.
The affixing of the new Crest Gem was done under the patronage of Atamasthanadhipathi Most Ven. Dr. Pallegama Sirinivasa Nayaka Thera and Ruwanweli Chethiyaramadhipathi Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Nayake Thera and most venerable Lumpo Anan Thera.
