CPC to take legal action against PUCSL Chairman: Minister

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will respond legally to Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake against the accusations on the quality of Crude Oil, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.

He said in a Twitter post that "CPC has adequate stocks of diesel and fuel oil and that extended power cuts were requested by CEB due to the breakdown at Lakshapana, insufficient funds at CEB for diesel and fuel oil and hydro management."

PUCSL Chairman had accused Sri Lankan authorities of importing crude oil which contained a high rate of sulfur and cannot be used for power generation.

In the same manner, you should also ask the Rajapakses and those corrupt pohottuwas to take legal action against the accusations made by the general public, if they are not true. Try to restructure the CPC by kicking out unwanted garbage and streamlining the whole purchase

@roni Legal action is useless as CPC and IOC choose to set their prices for their profit (or in case of CPC recoup losses) needs. Only another Aragalaya can topple Minister Kanchana while him and the Parliament stay their term.

@emilyjoack Not sure what the joke or threat is, but seems the action would cause more printed money to be used, as all those who in government making allegations and those they make the allegations are all paid for by printed money. And that in itself is the greatest driver of inflation today.
