CPC to take legal action against PUCSL Chairman: Minister



The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will respond legally to Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake against the accusations on the quality of Crude Oil, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.

He said in a Twitter post that "CPC has adequate stocks of diesel and fuel oil and that extended power cuts were requested by CEB due to the breakdown at Lakshapana, insufficient funds at CEB for diesel and fuel oil and hydro management."

PUCSL Chairman had accused Sri Lankan authorities of importing crude oil which contained a high rate of sulfur and cannot be used for power generation.
