Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa yesterday said he and others representing various political parties will begin a new political journey with the launch of Samagi Jana Balawegaya today.

Speaking during a public gathering in Galle, Mr Premadasa said today's launch will be a new democratic exercise. "We will be starting a new political and democratic exercise today," he said.

"It will also be a new journey with a new mission," he said.

Also, he lauded the new online service launched by MP Manusha Nanayakkara which people could inform the MP their urgent need. "This exercise of Mr Nanayakkara is an innovative one. He had thought out of the box to implement it," he said.

"Mr Nanayakkara has become an ombudsman by accepting the plight of the people and help them. This is also an act of gratitude," he said.

Mr Premadasa said this online service will be made use of by Samagi Jana Balawegaya as value addition where the people are concerned. (Yohan Perera)
