Some 85,000 consumers have been affected by power breakdowns due to the extreme weather conditions prevailing in the country, Power and Energy Development Director and Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardena said.

Accordingly, areas such as Kegalle, Puttalam, Galle, Gampaha, Kalutara, Matale, Dambulla, Kandy and Ratnapura districts have been affected by the power outage, he said.

However, the CEB maintenance service crew are already deployed to restore power supply with the least possible delay, Mr. Jayawardena added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
