20 workers of Gampaha Secretariat work-site contract Corona

A group of 20 workers in a construction site of the Gampaha District Secretariat ground had contracted CORONA.

The health authorities who checked their lodging facilities at the worksite found a total of 56 workers were staying in one congested building.

Public Health Inspectors visited the hostel of the workers at the Hansagiri Road in Gampaha on the instructions of Gampaha MOH Dr.subhash Subasinghe after 20 workers were identified positive of the virus. PHI Susantha Bandara said the workers had been provided accommodation in a congested building regardless of health guidelines.

The MOH said that there were more than 240 workers at the building site and their associates too would be quarantined. (TILAKARATNE DISANAYAKE)
