Innovative Data Solutions (Pvt) Ltd (IDS), a local software company launched their latest software platform, centraSERV Version 1.0, for the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka. The product launch and demonstrations were held on July 4, at the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo.

centraSERV is a cloud hostbased software platform, developed by IDS to replace intraSERV, which is the on premise version. IDS has been selling intraSERV since 2004. Currently, over 100 hotels are using intraSERV in four countries in the SAARC region that includes India, Maldives, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and IDS is in the process of migrating all sites to centraSERV.

“We believe that the time is right now, for us to introduce centraSERV software platform to Sri Lanka as the hospitality industry is developing rapidly in the country. It is obvious that the demand for well managed broadband access in local hotels will be similar to what we have experienced overseas, over the last couple of years. Therefore, we firmly believe that we would be able to play a major role in the local market, with over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry in India and other SAARC countries” commented IDSFounderandManaging DirectorJeremy Fernando.

IDS is the first company in the SAARC region to have deployed a cloud based broadband billing and management platform to a reputed hotel chain such as Ginger Group of Hotels in India. This achievement was recognized by Nomadix USA, a leading hospitality access gateway manufacturer in the world, through a case study published worldwide.

IDS believes that the local hospitality industry will also recognize the achievements and the capabilities of our local software engineers and use centraSERV in their hotels, without importing similar products from India and other countries. This would boost the image of IDS and help the company to develop the product further with direct interaction with the end-users in the country.
IDS is also planning to deploy a hotel room automation system for the local market under the brand name of Ape’. This patent pending technology and design has won an award last year. Ape’ product line has been designed and manufactured by Innovative Smart Solutions (iS2), which is also a company founded by Jeremy Fernando. iS2 claims that the Ape’ SmartHotel system would probably be the first such system in the world, which is IoT compliant with Power Line Communication (PLC), integrated with cloud hosted centraSERV.
