UNF leaders are to meet today to make vital decisions on the proposed alliance, a leader of a UNF constituent party said yesterday.

This leader who did not wish to be named said they will be meeting at Minister Rajitha Senaratne’s residence in the morning today.

The leaders will decide on a date to sign the agreement to set up the proposed alliance and are also expected to reach an agreement on its constitution. In addition they will also decide on the proposal to announce its candidate on the date on which the agreement is signed.

It was earlier reported that the UNP had been given the right to choose the Presidential candidate.
