Two resigned state ministers sworn-in

State Ministers Mohamed Cassim Mohamed Faizal and Ali Zahir Moulana Seyed, who resigned from their posts in June, were sworn-in before President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.  

 

Accordingly, Mohamed Cassim was sworn-in as the State Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, while Ali Zahir Moulana was sworn-in as the State Minister for Primary Industries and Social Empowerment.  


All Muslim Ministers including Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministers who resigned from their portfolios on June 03 said, they resigned to facilitate investigations which were being conducted against MP Rishad Bathiudeen.

Another set of resigned Muslim ministers were sworn-in earlier. Ministers Rauff Hakeem, Rishad Bathiudeen and Ameer Ali were among those sworn in on July 29.
