Two men were arrested on charges of being in possession of 12 grams of heroin and the car they were travelling in taken into custody by the Mount Lavinia Motor Patrol Unit at Ratmalana.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspects had been operating this racket in Ratmalana, Panadura, Moratuwa, Piliyandala, Kohuwala, Boralesgamuwa and Nugegoda and that the king pin behind the racket was an expatriate in Dubai.
Mount Lavinia Motor Patrol Unit OIC Sub-inspector Asela Prasad Seneviratne, PCs 54972 Ranjith, 86040 Basnayaka, 92438 Madushan carried out arrests on the instructions of HQI Dileepa C. Perera and SSP Rohan Premaratne.
