A stock of illegal drugs had been seized and two suspects arrested by Mount Lavinia Crime Investigation Branch, during a raid in Kothalawalapura, the Police said.
The suspects were young men from the Ratmalana area. The Police said they ambushed the suspects in front of the Kotalawalapura school and arrested them who were transporting a stock of 1,000 capsules on motorcycles. Investigations revealed that the suspects were distributing the illegal drug in the Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Lunawa, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala and Angulana areas.
OIC Crime Investigation Branch CI Puspakumara Ferdinando, SI Neil Priyantha, Sergeant 4518 Dissanayake, PCs 93499 Dilshan, 28007 Maithreepala, 28284 Madumal, 26454 Ranasinghe, and 17041 Sampath had carried out the raid on the instructions of SSP Rohan Premaratne.
