The total COVID-19 cases reported so far in Sri Lanka surpassed 19,000 mark with 435 more individuals testing positive for the virus yesterday.
A total of 435 COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday.
The Epidemiology Unit said all the patients detected yesterday had been identified as contacts of the previous clusters.
The toll of COVID-19 cases in the Minuwangoda-Peliyagoda cluster thereby surged to 15,765.
Accordingly, the total cases reported so far in Sri Lanka stand at 19,280 while there are still 5,936 patients under medical care.
Meanwhile, the toll of COVID-19 deaths also increased to 74 with a 70-year-old male succumbing to the virus.
Meanwhile, the total recoveries in the country also surpassed 13,000 mark with 368 more patients recovering and being discharged from hospitals.
Accordingly, the total recoveries stand at 13,271.
