Ten-year old boy appeals to find missing mother

A ten-year-old boy who has kept away from attending school and instead roamed around the country in search of his mother had been spotted in Dambulla on Wednesday morning. The boy, who was accompanied by his grandmother had approached journalists in Dambulla and appealed for help to locate his mother who had gone missing over the past two months. The boy identified as Supun Lakshan is a resident of Lenadora in Serugasyaya, Dambulla. His mother M. M. Kamala Ranjani (37) had been employed at a house in Polonnaruwa. He had made requests from the police stations in Naula, Medirigiriya and Diyasenpura to help find his mother. Sources revealed that he had lost his father when he was an infant and had been living with his grandmother Ranmenike. With tears she stated that her daughter had never failed to care of the child. They are appealing to the general public to inform the whereabouts of Kamala Ranjani or any information about her on telephone number 076 2116193.
