Prevailing showery conditions are expected to enhance during the next few days, the Meteorology Department said yesterday.
The department forecast heavy rainfall of above 150mm in Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Western Provinces in the coming days.
Fairly heavy falls of above 75mm are likely at several locations in Northwestern, Northern, Uva and Eastern Provinces.
Meanwhile, a minor flood condition continued in the Southern Province as water levels of Gin and Nilwala rivers had risen yesterday.
According to the Disaster Management Centre, some lowlands in the Southern Province were underwater as a result of heavy rainfall in the past few days.
The Galle District had received rainfall of 112mm while Matara had received 102mm. Matugama had experienced showers of more than 100mm while Kalutara received a fall of 93mm during the past few days.
