Former Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Shani Abeysekara and two others who had been in  remand for allegedly fabricating evidence and attempting to mislead the court were further remanded till February 3 by Gampaha Acting Magistrate  Mahesh Herath yesterday.

The other two suspects were former Embilipitiya Police SI Mohana Mendis and retired SI H.D.Navarane Prematilleka.

The Colombo Crimes Division  informed court that they recorded a statement from the suspect Navaratne Prematilleka in the prisons.
