The car driven by the schoolboy crashed into a wayside tree at Puwakkele on the Bibila-Padiyatalawa road.
A 17 year old schoolboy died and his father received serious injuries when the car driven by the former crashed into a wayside tree at Puwakkele on the Bibila-Padiyatalawa road.

The deceased Herath Mudiyanselage Saliya Bandara was a resident of Ihala Weediya in Padiyatalawa. His father, a school teacher, who was seriously injured in the incident was admitted to Prof. Senaka Bibile Memmorial Base Hosptial in Bibila.

Investigations revealed that the schoolboy had got exited and lost control of the vehicle when he noticed a wild elephant on the road and that he was not in a possession of a driving license.

Bibila Police are conducting further investigations.
