Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has organised a joint Opposition Protest aimed at safeguarding the right of expression at the Independent Square today.

SJB MP Harin Fernando told Daily Mirror that his party has invited all Opposition political parties including UNP and JVP to participate in the protest but was not sure whether the two parties would do so.  “We have invited a number of opposition political parties for the protest but we don’t know whether they would do so,” he said.  The protest is titled ‘Let us protect Freedom of Speech’ and the party has called it a protest of the United Opposition.
