A Russian tour group has been granted permission to visit Sri Lanka and will be the first batch of tourists to enter country after reopening of the airports on December 26, Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CASL) Chairman Upul Dharmadasa said.
He said this Russian tour group will consist of more than 200 people and will be the first to arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and at the Mattala Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport
(MRIA) respectively.
Mr. Dharmadasa said the airport authorities and the travel agents have been informed of this and instructed to take necessary actions, such as disinfecting the airport premises, organising customs and immigration formalities, hotels reservations by travel agents and arrangement of buses for the tourists.
