Rumours circulating on social media of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa being critically ill is false, and he is safe and attending to his usual work, sources from the Prime Minister’s office told Daily Mirror yesterday. 

Sources within the Prime Minister’s office said they were aware of the rumours spreading since early Sunday morning but said that there was no truth to it, 


The Prime Minister is attending to his daily work and will attend a scheduled public event today, sources said, which will receive media coverage.
