The Government yesterday advised people not to experiment with the anti-COVID-19 medicine recipes, circulating on social media.

The State Ministry of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health said people are requested in social media to consume different types of drug recipes used in indigenous medicine as a cure for the COVID-19 infection.

“It is very needful to have a clear knowledge of what ingredients are used to make an indigenous medicine because if wrong ingredients are used, that would not produce the expected results and also there could be harmful effects."

Hence, people are urged to refrain from experimenting with such recipes.
It also requested people to adhere to protocols of the WHO and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health to prevent from COVID-19 while consuming indigenous treatment to boost immunity.

Meanwhile, the State Ministry said the researches on several indigenous medicines are underway and added it would take steps to inform the public of the outcome once the research findings are concluded.
