The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) yesterday approved the power shedding for today. The PUCSL directed the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to reduce the power cuts to below five hours.  Accordingly, three or four hours in the daytime and half an hour in the night before 10.00 pm and to be spread over two time slots for consumer convenience, the PUCSL said.

However, a seven-hour power cut requested by the CEB was not approved by the PUCSL.
