By Kelum Bandara
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is reported to have yesterday sought Cabinet approval to purchase a bullet proof vehicle for Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Cabinet paper submitted by the Premier was postponed for next week on the basis that Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera had different views.
Informed sources said the Finance Minister had pointed out that the people would find fault with the government for buying such luxury vehicles at a difficult time such as this. The other ministers however, were non-committal about the proposal.
