Nine days will be enough to conduct all examinations

By Kelum Bandara

The Education Ministry has rescheduled the GCE Ordinary Level Examinations to be held from March 1 to 11, 2021, Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris said yesterday.

The exam is usually conducted in December annually under the normal circumstances.

However, the education authorities earlier arranged the timetable between January 18 and 27, next year.
The Minister said the pandemic had created numerous challenges and the situation was not ideal for the conduct of the exam across the country, according to the January schedule.

He said the dates were reset in March as a result after consulting medical experts.
“Nine days will be enough to conduct all examinations,” he said.
