The number of guests for weddings has been revised from 150 to 50, Primary Healthcare, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control State Minister Sudarshini Fernandopulle said.

She told the Daily Mirror that the decision had been taken considering the prevailing situation in the country, in terms of the new variant of COVID-19 being highly transmissible.
“It is also necessary to impose restrictions at public events, funerals and night clubs as well, and thus, the number of people to attend them has also been revised,” she said.
“These restrictions are not something new. We revert to the regulations that were in place earlier. Now, we are tightening the regulations,” the State Minister underlined.
She said the new guidelines would be issued within the course of the day.
