• The suspect was arrested with foreign currency worth over Rs. 1.67 million

A 27-year-old man was arrested yesterday by Special Task Force (STF) officials who was exchanging foreign currency under the proscribed ‘Undiyal’ system in Weligama, police said.  

They said the suspect was arrested with foreign currency worth over Rs. 1.67 million, which he was keeping ready to send overseas through the Undiyal method  

The suspect was handed over to the Weligama Police.
