Madush’s accomplice ‘Ata Indika’ arrested in Karandeniya

A 37-year-old Sunil Premaratne alias “’Ata Indika’, an accomplice of Notorious underworld drug kingpin Makandure Madush, was arrested by the Karandeniya Police yesterday.  
Police said the suspect was arrested on possession of a live hand grenade.  


The suspect was arrested during a different raid conducted into a chain-snatching complaint by a woman in Karandeniya.  


Police said the arrested suspect, was wanted over the murder of former Southern Provincial Councillor Danny Hiththatiya. Danny Hittatiya was killed in 2006 allegedly by a team led by Kamburupitiye Harsha and Sunil Premaratne on the instructions of Makandure Madush.  


He was tobe  produced in the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court.
