The Court of Appeal will consider on March 5, a writ petition filed by Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith seeking an order to the security forces to conduct a formal inquiry into the alleged importation of about 6,000 swords by a group of people during the period related to the Easter Sunday terror attack.
The Court had also issued notices to IGP C.D. Wickramaratne and other security chiefs named as respondents in the petition, to inform the progress of the investigation.
The notice was issued by a bench of Justices Arjuna Obeysekera and Mayadunne Corea.
