Another cancer patient who had been referred to Badulla General Hospital by the Ragama Teaching Hospital died of Covid-19 yesterday increasing the total number to four .
A 52- year- old woman from Kebillewela in Bandarawela was the fourth cancer patient of the Badulla Hospital to die of complications triggered by Covid-19. Meanwhile four members in the family of a 70- year -old cancer patient from Wineethagama in Badulla who died earlier were PCR- tested . The deceased had been cremated in the Badulla Public Cemetery under the health guidelines. A senior official of the Badulla MOH office said that 70 people in 24 families in the village who had visited the house of the deceased to extend their sympathies to the relatives were also self- quarantined.
