The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) would have found out the real culprits behind the Easter Sunday attacks by now if it was given a free hand, UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara said yesterday.

Mr. Range Bandara told a press conference that the issue today is that no proper investigation has been carried out on the Easter Sunday attacks. “It is our opinion that even the Presidential Commission which probed the attack had not carried out its duty effectively,” Mr. Range Bandara said.

“Former President Maithripala Sirisena should accept the responsibility without criticising others just like Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa who accepted the responsibility on behalf of the former,” he added.
