Decision on election within next few days

The decisions concerning the upcoming election will be announced to the country within the next few days and there is no crisis in the United National Party (UNP), Chairman Kabir Hashim said.  

He said several people made their statements especially about the oppositions. 

“They claimed that there was no unity within the Party, but there is no truth in it. We take decisions within the party’s democratic framework. Therefore, our party gives the opportunity to everyone to make their own decisions”, he said.   

“We would be making decisions based on the upcoming election and with the help of our senior members of the party including Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe,” the Minister added.
