Cabinet nod for prepaid transit card for public transport   

The Government approved the resolution submitted by the Transport Minister for taking necessary measures for utilising the online prepaid transit card for public transport, the Cabinet Spokesman said.   

He said the system will be implemented in the public transport sector as a solution to using money to buy tickets.   

Cabinet approval to release Aircraft landing, parking charges for MRIA, BIA   

The Government had approved the release of landing, parking charges for Aircraft that land at the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) and the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) as an encouragement for the International Air Charter Operations.   

The project will be put in place as per specific schedules prepared by the Tourism Ministry and the Sri Lankan Civil Aviation Authority with a view to attract more inbound tourists.
