  • Says she fears a threat on her life

By Kelum Bandara

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga has written to IGP C.D.Wickramaratne requesting that her security is beefed up since she feared a threat to her life.

In a detailed letter, she recalled how some persons had broken into her house in Horagolla recently and moved around freely examining household items. She said the gang had left without removing anything and therefore it could not be an attempt of burglary.

She noted that the police teams rushed to the scene upon complaints.

Raising concerns that no breakthrough had been made following investigations, she said she feared it could be construed as a rehearsal for an untoward act to be committed in the future.
She urged the IGP to conduct investigations in this regard.
