• Attendance of teachers was satisfactory and it was 68%

When schools in the Kandy education zone were reopened yesterday (14), after three days of closure only 5,297 out of 33,768 students in 101 schools were present. Zonal Director of education M.W. Wijerathna said it was 16.68% of attendance.  

He said attendance of teachers was satisfactory and it was 68%. He said school had been closed for three days after beginning the third term. When the school reopen yesterday attendance to the school in the Kandy Municipal area was very poor. Attendance in a leading school was less than 50 students.
