    Rashad Wednesday, 21 November 2012 04:20 AM

we are into a unique stage and the step into the next generation or very late in stepping into the future generation but what kind of rubbish and bullshit song is this what is there to do with people looking at the skies can we see a sattelite which is roaming in the space with a naked eyes? and what is the purpose of this sattalite more communication related so the video should be having kind of backing which institute more examples of usage of techno's with showing of the satatlite image or something who ever did this song has to be given his or her backpack and the interval meal and be sent back to school with a gurdian

    Gihan Wednesday, 21 November 2012 04:21 AM

The typicality of most Sri Lankan does is to criticize what ever said done, Remember there is two side of a coin where we can not expect all good return from everything. Just appreciate this and bless wholeheartedly. The harsh truth is we can not launch a SAT alone even in another 1000 years. We do have to share knowledge and technology with other countries to move 4wd in that sense will have to forgo few things and that is where we have to be smart managing those.

Just Try to be seen things impartially and comment without blaming to gov everything.

All the very best for the people who behind Supreme Sat and hope we gotta move on here....

Laksiri Perera Wednesday, 21 November 2012 04:20 AM

Shouldn't it be Lankasat...?. People like to know the percentage of Sri Lankan ownership and the control over the functions to be really proud of the launching. They have a right to know the profile of this business agreement.

Dalu Banda Wednesday, 21 November 2012 04:28 AM

    congrats.

    Ranasinghe Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:54 AM

Before we try to gain pride, there are so many areas to address, such as education, health and infrastructure.

To be honest, our economy can't accept all these expenses unless the "best wishers" are happy to pay more taxes to over the debts.

    MSilva Wednesday, 21 November 2012 05:14 AM

People can have their own views, it does not have any impact on the process and does not need any treatment. Anyway a good work, but made in China.

Lone Ranger Wednesday, 21 November 2012 05:29 AM

There are many types of communication satellites, the most common for telecommunications. For example there are GPS, spy etc. Then there are some for aerial photography. We need to know what this satellite is for.

    vrh Wednesday, 21 November 2012 05:37 AM

    who build it?A French Company
    who launch it? China

    Marikkar Wednesday, 21 November 2012 05:47 AM

This is a land mark achivement indeed. No doubt Sri Lanka is going to prosper. But the Big question is when this will happen, despite our concept is a noble one. However, who knows exactly what China's speculations are under this cover!!!.

When a country sends a communication satellite you too can hire a part inside of it. You can fit camera, communication, TV, Radio transmitters too there. Also those provider can access what you are gathering and what you are sending. No rental paid? service will be closed.

mohamed asfar Wednesday, 21 November 2012 06:52 AM

    Gunapala Wednesday, 21 November 2012 08:24 AM

Why on earth are some people so negative. Be happy that Sri Lanka is going to have their own communication satellite with India & Pakistan who have their own. Its a giant step for Sri Lanka. Its a step forward.

Asoka Liyanage Wednesday, 21 November 2012 02:07 AM

    bernardwijeyasingha Tuesday, 20 November 2012 07:11 PM

Fantastic! it was meant to be launched in 2015 and now it has been moved to 2012. With China sharing launching technology with Sri Lanka's nascent space program will also come technology for launching missiles.

mr. gamarala Tuesday, 20 November 2012 07:18 PM

what is it for? as in what does "communications" mean? is it to spy on the citizens or provide a single point of connection for satellite services? who will be providing these satellite services? Carlton Sports?

    Arul Wednesday, 21 November 2012 01:46 AM

Only can see the name in Chinese & English. If it is for Srilanka then, name should written in Sinhala or Tamil.

    Darren Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:28 AM

I don't think Sri Lankans really know the value of this project. We have being paying a large sum of money to India to use the satellite " Asia SAT" for so many years.some times we have failed to broadcast some important world events since we could not simply handle the cost. This will also help us in speedy Internet ,Telephone and especially in research work to our scientists. This is a great achievement for Sri Lanka. Please set aside your political opinion and think how this will benefit the country.

Miracle Child Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:30 AM

I am dreaming for that day where, instead of our Chinese friends, picture is full of Sri Lankans together with the rocket...

but this is a good start...it should encourage our younger generation to look up to a new frontier..which I didn't have when I was growing up...

    Ramanan Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:34 AM

Name the sat as Dr. Athur C Clerk

DJ Hilton Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:35 AM

good work china..., you enabled your spy in asia...using us...
    great work..

    Ramanayake Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:45 AM

Reading certain comments here make me think that Sri Lanka is the only country where her own people are jealous of their own mother land

    jack Wednesday, 21 November 2012 03:51 AM

Who gets the most benefits by telecasting the world events via Sat? Individuals or Public?
