The orphaned children of the slain Matara Division Anti-Vice Squad police constable and his wife received donations of over a million rupees, within two hours after the acceptance of donations began. It is some consolation to hear of the response shown by the people to the unbearable loss to the children of their mother and father and to see that there are their kith and kin to look after them. However, prevention is better than cure, and those others who are emulating the murderers of this type in other parts of the country should be arrested forthwith.
