LankaClear (Pvt) Ltd., the national payment infrastructure provider, launched the Common ATM Switch (CAS) under the Brand Name “LankaPay” today at a glittering launch ceremony held at Water’s Edge, Battaramulla. The first transactions of the switch were carried out by Mr Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor of Central Bank and Mr Ananda Silva, Deputy Governor of Central Bank on two ATMs of Bank of Ceylon and People’s Bank at the launch venue. The LankaPay CAS, which is the first phase of the Common Card and Payment Switch (CCAPS) implemented by LankaClear under the approval of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka will revolutionize the ATM transactions in the country.
