The new base workshop building of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Regiment, which has already made a breakthrough in many an innovative product of international standards, was inaugurated by Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva in Kosgama.
The SLEME's electrical and mechanical engineers in the past few months have made new great strides in producing a fleet of new vehicles of high standards, such as Unicorn buffels which have already received the UN recognition for use in overseas peacekeeping missions.
The workshop was earlier operational in a small area inside the Kosgama Army Industry complex.

Absolutely superb stuff by the Sri Lanka Army. Just one humble suggestion, can SL army sort out the 4-wheel needs of the 225 nincompoops residing in Diyawanna oya sans permits to purchase BMWs Mercs and the rest. If not to save foreign currency why not for the love of the nation. If the army can turn out an Unicorn, I am sure they can do something for our esteemed representatives.

In economics, there is a concept called competitive advantage. The reason the US allows South Korea, Israel and Taiwan to build some of their military hardware is not that the US cannot build them anymore. It is because the US can't build them economic efficiency for the same price and quality as they used to.
