Returning to the ODI team after a brief spell of injury layoff, Martin Guptill scored his 14th ODI ton in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. The right-handed batsman reached the landmark in just 104 balls, becoming the first centurion in 2019. With a ton, he also helped the Kiwis in crossing the 200-run mark after they won the toss and elected to bat.
Guptill was well supported on the other end by skipper Kane Williamson before he was dismissed for 76. The captain dropped the ball to his stumps. Earlier, Colin Munro continued his poor form and was dismissed early on.
