Sri Lanka’s tea exports witnessed a 13 percent Year-on-Year (YoY) expansion for the month of July, recording the highest quantity shipped for the corresponding month over the last five years.
The country exported 28 MnKg of tea, an increase of 4 MnKg compared to the July 2019 figure.
Meanwhile, cumulative exports for the January – July period this year contracted by 11 percent to 152 Mn Kg compared to the corresponding period the previous year. Although a fall is witnessed, the industry expressed confidence in the export figures catching up to 2019 levels.
