Keells Food Products sees FY15 profit surging to Rs.261 mn

Keells Food Products PLC, the processed meat industry leader in the country, saw its profit surging exponentially for FY15 amid higher top line growth.
The company reported a net profit of Rs.261 million for the full year under review against net profit of Rs.467, 000 a year ago. The earnings improved to Rs.10.25 per share from 2 cents. The revenue for the year rose 15 percent yoy to Rs2.61 billion with cost of sales increasing at a lesser pace of 5 percent yoy to Rs.1.87 billion. The gross profit stood at Rs.743 million, up 48 percent.
The company reported an operating profit of Rs.338.3 million against an operating loss of the Rs.33.5 million in the previous year amid the absence of one-off expenses.
