Foundation stones laid for Green Gold housing project at Upcot’s Strathspey Estate

The Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development Ministry has allocated funds through the Plantation Human Development Trust to construct 25 new houses for the Ormidale Division workers at the Strathspey 

Estate under the ‘Green Gold’ housing project concept. 
The cost per house is Rs.1,250,000.
A large gathering came to witness this event along with the participation of ministry officials, parliament MPs, provincial council ministers, PHDT officials (Colombo and Hatton) and well-wishes.       
At the event Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development Minister Palani Thigambaram hoisted the national flag, Plantations Human Development Trust Director General Lal Perera hoisted the Plantations Human Development Trust flag and Strathspey estate Superintendent hoisted the Maskeliya Plantations PLC flag. 
After lighting the traditional oil lamp, laying the foundation stones for each Green Gold house took place at the Strathspey Estate Ormidale Division.
