The United National Party (UNP) today questioned whether the SLFP would take disciplinary action against its members who garlanded the former North Western Provincial Council UPFA Member who was charged with harassing a school teacher.

It was reported recently that some members of the SLFP had garlanded this member of the Pradeshiya Sabha when he was coming out of the Puttalam Magistrate's court.

UNP spokesman Gayantha Karunatilleke told that action should be taken against these SLFP members who gave such a reception to the Pradeshiya Sabha member. He questioned whether the SLFP General Secretary would take action against these members. (Yohan Perera and Lahiru Pothmulla)

I missed the fact he had been garlanded. He did the deed, he was forced to resign, and ... it just boggles my mind that people have honored a man who dishonored a teacher and no doubt has shamed his daughter.

This fellow who was garlanded will now be considered an honourable member of the pack of government political thugs. After all The recent Presidential delegation to Tanzania was composed of thugs including Mervin Silva, and two other well known thugs . No wonder the US> Ambassador has warned US citizens to be Wary when visiting this country.
