Then what are courts for if the corrupt Police can exercise summary killings. Next time you get Police at your doorstep if you cross them, you don't complain.
Thomas Sunday, 09 January 2011 03:31 PM
Are the so called Robbers members of the JVP, and collecting money to buy arms to START ANOTHER INSURGENCY???????????????///
pasel Sunday, 09 January 2011 02:45 AM
this is nothing new o the sri lanka justisce system.
cops always win for the encounter story
tissa Saturday, 08 January 2011 04:34 PM
Now JVP has given up the slogans about SF and started about some robbers and killers. However this must be inquired and the culprits must be punished without giving the same tratment
bash Saturday, 08 January 2011 04:27 PM
JVP at that time was branded terrorist, Is our police also terrorist???? or a law abiding organisation ???
tamil Saturday, 08 January 2011 03:53 PM
innocent police???? there few good once and a lot of bad apples. starting from the top.
tamil Saturday, 08 January 2011 03:50 PM
or is it that we are continuing the the whie flag trend in miracle of asia !
Sunil Lanka Saturday, 08 January 2011 03:46 PM
This type of things good for state to carry on with their agenda but not fair thinking public. Their is a way to tackle criminals. In any case not by police ommiting crime
citizen1 Saturday, 08 January 2011 02:49 PM
From the majority of the comments one can see the vicious and bloodthirsty nature our people have. They find killing ok.
perumal Saturday, 08 January 2011 12:23 PM
Convicts? Please do not use legal terms if you do not know the meaning.
sltk2004 Saturday, 08 January 2011 11:46 AM
Exactly. Most of those who comment saying this type of justice is good don't really feel it unless something like this happens to them
ACA Saturday, 08 January 2011 11:09 AM
Do POLICE or governors of the POLICE understand the meaning of the POLICE (Word) in Sri Lanka. It is look like People do not mind this type of state affairs. Good luck to them.
Riyazi-Dorking Saturday, 08 January 2011 09:27 AM
This is something serious !!!! Instead of a robber what happened if an innocent man got caught by the villagers in forest !!
( Can ask what an innocent man doing in the forest ? But may happen no ! )
Mara wedek ne! Saturday, 08 January 2011 08:33 AM
Why dont we demand an enquiry from the British for killing Weera Puran Appu also!
Banda Saturday, 08 January 2011 08:06 AM
Yes, agreed criminals need to be punished, but not by the hands of the police. Tomorrow you and I go to police to lodge a complaint, can end up in the same way.
Joseph Friday, 07 January 2011 07:23 PM
What ever the crime once handed over to the police, it is the responsibility of them to protect the lives.
But today we see the police as another thug group. Many have died while under police custody and shamefully no single culprit. Unforutnately the law does not apply to them!
The country needs a real police to police the police !!!
kavin gunaratne Saturday, 08 January 2011 06:29 AM
Yes, it is wrong if police has done it. On the other hand, I suspect these criminals may be army deserters attached to JVP. That is the reason for Mr Hearath to make a noise
sara Saturday, 08 January 2011 05:58 AM
Don't forget, during JVP time, they killed family members of soldiers and LG reps. They killed any one who supported two main parties. Don't we need inquiries for them as well.
Pandula Saturday, 08 January 2011 05:23 AM
So why we are claiming the pardon for Rizana if she has commited crimes. Why Min wife who burned two womens has freed. So why robbers can not charge by law. Simply We are Barbariesns in the civilized world. LOKU EKA PODI EKA KEMA and PODI EKA LOKU EKA WENUWEN UNGEMA UN MAREEMATA ANUBALA DEEMA.
NB Saturday, 08 January 2011 05:17 AM
@ Herath, I dont agree with you on the fact that INNOCENT POLICEMEN...But these thugs deserveinlgy got the punishment. If they were produced before courts, they will go in jail and come out after sometime and will become cancer to the society....In that sense, police and army had done the correct thing...
the undertaker Saturday, 08 January 2011 04:30 AM
THUGS WITH LICENSE
Cobra Saturday, 08 January 2011 01:32 AM
This whole thing smells. If the villagers' story is true, then the killing of fellow cops may have angered them to wipe out the fugitives instead of bringing them in. This doesn't look good at all.
Ranjith Saturday, 08 January 2011 01:13 AM
video clip was removed from the Web within hours.
Ananda Seneviratne, Saturday, 08 January 2011 12:21 AM
My Goodness....This desperate JVP doesnt have anything telse o discuss ???These JVPers should start a chicken farm so at least the country will have some chicken and eggs.
Herath Saturday, 08 January 2011 12:13 AM
Stay out of this JVP, They deserve it for killing innocent police men. Something not new for people like you.
malik Friday, 07 January 2011 10:23 PM
herathayata hari amarui wage minimaruwangwa maruwama.
Masood Friday, 07 January 2011 10:10 PM
Another "White Flag Incident"" ?? who will be jailed this time? Minister of Police??
namal Friday, 07 January 2011 09:57 PM
JVP is worried about 7 convicts, while it doesn't care about the thousands of Tamili killed in a similar fashion.
LankanLion Friday, 07 January 2011 08:46 PM
I guess those robbers are JVP members..so JVP is interested in those killing of their members
Sena Harris Friday, 07 January 2011 07:51 PM
No doubt these robbers must be JVP supporters engaged in fund raising to the party.
