Vehicle for the Veddah chief

An official double cab had been allocated to the Veddah Chief Uru Warige Wannila Aththo for his personal use accompanied with a driver on a directive from the Presidential Secretariat, the Moneragala Divisional Secretariat said.However, the vehicle would continue to be the property of the secretariat although it will be for the use of the Veddah Chief, the Secretariat said.
Additional Secretary Mrs. M.P Samarawickrema said that allocation of the vehicle to the Veddah Chief was done after it received directive from the Presidential Secretariat.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror she said that the vehicle would be maintained by the Uva Provincial Council. (Hafeel Farisz and Darshana Sanjeewa-DM Online)

Good for him. They are the first inhabitants of this island and they deserve the respects and perks when they are ready to change and accept them.
By the way the word 'Veddah' seems to be a derogatory one and should be replaced both in Sinhalese and English by a
less discriminatory one like 'forest people' . Any suggestions in Sinhala?
If the word Negro has now been discarded why not Veddah?

May be that he requested for it to go hunting with his bow & arrow while standing in the cab section at the back. Better make sure that it's a 4X4 with a winch and snorkel as well. Another idea would be to give him a digital camera unless he has one already gifted to him by another fool.
