A van without a number plate was seized by Trincomalee Police last night when it was transporting election propaganda posters of a son of a prominent UPFA politician in the area contesting for the forthcoming Provincial Council election, police sources said.
The arrest was made after information from chief election returning officer in the area.
The only passenger onboard, the driver was released on police bail. (Amadoru Amarajeewa)

This is not news - can see many vehicles running in Colombo without number plates in broad daylight - where is police then?
